Harbour FC

Background

Harbour FC needed a visual identity that could capture more than just the idea of a football club. The brand had to communicate safety, movement, mission, and community in a way that felt deeply rooted in its spiritual foundation. Inspired by the symbolism of a harbour as a place where vessels arrive safely and are sent out with purpose, the identity needed to feel meaningful, memorable, and adaptable across different touchpoints.

The challenge was creating a system that balanced the energy of sport with the depth of the organization’s message, while still feeling modern, clean, and versatile enough for merchandise, digital use, and future club expansion.

The Approach

The identity system was built around the central metaphor of a harbour. I developed the naming direction and translated the symbolism into a visual language that felt both athletic and mission-driven. The crest logo was designed around the letter “H”, with an extended crossbar functioning as a paddle resting on a canoe, subtly reinforcing movement, guidance, and purpose.

To strengthen the visual narrative, I introduced supporting brand elements inspired by water currents and organic liquid forms, representing flow, connection, and the harbour environment itself. A secondary canoe and paddle motif was also integrated into the wider identity system to create consistency across applications.

The overall direction focused on building a brand that felt symbolic without becoming overly complex. Every element was intentionally simplified to ensure strong recognition, flexibility, and long-term scalability across apparel, digital media, and community activations.
